The crystal growth rates of some physical vapor transport processes are com-pared with the molecular flux which strikes a unit area per unit time under equi-librium vapor pressures. Some reported data of the growth rate agree in valuewith the calculated flux corrected by the temperature-independent condensationcoefficient. It is concluded that those systems are controlled by the surface kinetics.
