The cross sections of the electron capture from a hydrogen atom by a protonor by a helium ton are calculated by the close-coupling (cc) method at highenergies up to 5.625 MeV/amu. The cc cross section is always smaller than theBrinkman-Kramers (BK) cross section and the ratio of them approaches to unitymonotonically in disagreement with the results of Cheshire et al. as the collisionenergy increases.
