The "F- and 'Li-rxoot measurements conclude that the Mn"' ion doped inLilac. crystal substitutes the Li" ton which is surrounded by a fluorine octa-hedron. The hyperfine (hf) interaction parameters of the ligand fluorine (Fl),second neishbour fluorine (F2) and lithium nuclei are obtained ; the unrairedspin fraction on 2s orbital of Fl is /.=O.61 '3 and that on 2p orbital. of Fl is .f, -/.=O.76 'A,. Usinn the Li and F2 hf rarameters the fractions /,(L.55'3) and /.(0.81 %) are separated by estimating the Fl-Li and Fl-F2 overlap integrals. The"Mn hf parameter is also obtained using ENDOR technique.
