Elastic comrliance constants (at constant electric field) sfx, s'ix and .s?Ys andelectromechanical courlins factors kxn and Axe have been measured in NaHa-(Sea.). near the Curie point, -79'C. A new theory, which takes account ofelastic nonlinearity or the third elastic constants, is proposed to explain the changeof .s" (atconstant electruc dzsplacement) below the CU1'lC P0II1t. ThlS theory IS Vllldfor most of the elastic anomalies in ferroelectric crystals.
