All the radial integrals required in the Coulomb-Born calctulation of the excita-Lion of positive ions by electron impact have been expressed in terms of theGauss hypergeometric functions for the monopole and dipole cases when theatomic radial ftmctions are represented analytically as a linear combination ofStaler-type orbitals. The cross sections for the Is-+2s and ls+2p transitions inhydrogen-like tons with Z=2x10 and 50 have been obtained. The present resultsare in agreement with others which have been evaluated numerically.
