Using linearized Vlasov-Maxwell equations, the skin effect of microwaves andtransverse pseudowaves excited by an idealized grid antenna in plasmas areanalyzed. It is shown that the latter is predominant over the former, in such aplasma that oc,v.7cocg l, where co, and co are the plasma and microwave angularfrequencies, v, and c are the electron thermal and light velocities, respectively.
