The ground state properties of the double layer quantum Heisenberg antifer-romagnet are studied by the spin wave approximation. It is shown that the spin fluctuation decreases with the increase of the antiferromagnetic interlayer coupling J. forsmall J., while it turns to increase for large J. withirt the linear spin wave approxima-Lion. It is expected that the long range order is destroyed foa' large enough J, indicating the possibility of the quantum disordered state. This mechanism of thedestruction of the antiferromagnetic order contains no frustration and is of purelyquantum origin. This model is also related to the highly dopecl limit of the coupledspin-fermion model of the high T. superconductors if the intralayer magnetic coupl-ing in one of the layers is absent.
