We give an infinite volume formulation of quantum inverse scattering method forHeisenberg XXZ model, by making use of Jost soltttions of di]Terence equations satisfying prescribed asymptotic boundary conditions. We find opcrator identities amongthe Jost solutions which enable us to obtain Gel'fand-Levitatn equations more easilythan any previous formulations. By solving an integral equation, we express scattering data operators in terms of solely reflection coefficient operators, which are creaLion and annihilation operators of magnons and tlteir bound ',tales. We also see thatwhen expressed in terms of them, Hamiltonian and other ixttegrals of motion areduagonalized in free bosonic forms so that magnon and their bound states constitute acomplete set of bases of Fock space.
