Dynamical behaviors of a pinned sine-Gordon soliton are studied numerically bysolving a damped sine-Gordon equation in the external peric>dic force. In this paper,a partial differential equation is directly solved instead of the reduced system with theperturbation theory. Chaotic motion occurs through the sequence of the perioddoubling bifurcation. Numerical results show the agreement with those by the pertur-bation method. This chaos localizes around the pinning point. Spatial dependence ofthe intensity of chaos is investigated.
