Alternation rarameter (5 derendences of the xround-state eners>r (GE) end)and the gap A(l>) in the excitation spectrum of the spin HamiltonianfI=J I [1 -l-( - 1)'J][.5f.5j.) A-SfS7.- 1 -VoS5S7.3Jl=1are calculated in two numerical methods, with interest in the exponents fi of theGE and<x of the gap which are defined as e(J) -8(0)(XIJ' and d(J)c>oJ' for small<5.First by means of the 2-level renormalization group calculation the exponents areobtained as fix1.7S and a?0.96 for the isotropic Heisenberg model (a=l).Second by means of the finite chain extrapolation, fi for o =l is obtained as1.68t3z39 from the data of the extrapolated GE between J=0.05 and 0.1.
