Haken's criterion for longitudinal optical (LO) phonon screening is extended into the system which has two modes of LO phonons. The result is applied to the discussion of binding energies of yellow exciton series in Cu_2O. It is pointed out that polaron self-energies of an electron and a hole composing an exciton are important in the calculation of binding energies.
