Better induction percentage (60.0%) of embryogenic callii was obtained in the MS media supplemented with 2.0 mg/L 2,4-D and 0.5μM CuSO_4,followed by the media supplemented with 1.5 mg/L 2,4-D and 0.5-5.0 μM CuSO_4 in Tibet hullless barley. 4-rowed hullless barley was relatively easy to develop embryogenic callii, followed by 2-rowed barley, while 6-rowed barley (cv. Ludaomai) failed to produce embryogenic callii. Triumph and Tibet hullless barley successfully generated green plants, with the regeneration percentage of 35.0% and 5.0% respectively. Some embryogenic callii generated albino plants.
