Ethylene activity seemed to be suppressed by adding AgNO_3 in the closed and diffusive conditions of both potato cultivars examined. After treated with AgNO_3,the shoot length decreased while root length and leaf area increased. The leaf area increased 5 and 3 fold in the closed and diffusive conditions, respectively. The water loss was significantly less in diffusive condition than in closed one, and shoot length and leaf area also increased in some degrees. The addition of 7.5 and 2.5 mg/L AgNO_3 significantly increased the microtuber fresh weight and microtuber number for DN303 and Lanya, respectively.
