Energy Eigenvalue Formula for Power-Law Potentials in Semiclassical-Type Approximation

For power-law potentials V(r) =λr^ν( -2 < ν< ∞), a simple energy eigenvalue formula is obtained within the framework of semiclassical-type approximation. This formula is exact for ν= -1 and 2, a good approximation for finite value of ν, and a qualitatively good approximation even for ν=∞. A geometrical interpretation of the energy eigenvalue formula is given for small ν.
