Thermal equilibrium properties of a classical electron gas are investigated by taking into account the plasma oscillation mode. The free energy is calculated in terms of collective coordinate representation. It is shown explicitly that the Debye-Huckel limiting term of the free energy is due to short range correlation part of the Coulomb interaction, and that the long range correlation effect increases the free energy by 22% of the Debye-Huckel term.
