In order to investigate possible existence of Lorentz gauge field, we examine its effects on the hyperfine structures of hydrogen and muonium. The Lorentz gauge field correction to the hyperfine splitting is caused by exchange of the spin 1^+ and 0^- Lorentz gauge particles. Comparing our results with recent experimental values for hydrogen and muonium, we get upper bounds for the coupling constants of the spin 1^+ and 0^- Lorentz gauge particles. The upper bounds depend on the masses of the spin 1^+ and 0^- Lorentz gauge particles.
