Renormalization group recursion formulas take simple closed forms on hierarchical lattices, and then they may be solved analytically and provide us with clues to the study of real systems by the real space renormalization group methods. Quark confinement in four-dimensional non-Abelian lattice gauge theories and mass generations in two-dimensional non-linear sigma models are established within approximate renormalization group methods which hold exactly on suitable hierarchical lattices imbedded in Z^D.
