Electroproduction and γNΔ_<33> Vertex

Pion electroproduction process in low energy region is investigated on the basis of a simple pole model. This model consists of the sum of the usual Born terms and the contributions of Δ<33>-exchange diagrams estimated by use of the most general spin-3/ 2 propagator and the three basic interactions at γNΔ<33> vertex. The values of the coupling constants of these interactions and off-mass-shell parameters at γNΔ<33> vertex are determined at each value of K^2 using the angular distribution of the final pion. It is found that some satisfactory agreement with these experimental data is obtained. The resulting values of the coupling constants and off-mass-shell parameters show fairly smooth variation with K^2 and seem to be smoothly jointed to the values obtained by analysis of photoproduction. The off-mass-shell parameters at γNΔ<33> vertex are important to explain low energy pion electroproduction. It is shown that the inelastic form factor at γNΔ<33> vertex decreases more rapidly than the nucleon form factor in a consistent way with other results as K^2 increases.
