Flavor symmetry breaking of the sea quarks in the nucleon is discussed in the SU(4) model. It is shown that there exists an approximate equality of the number of the sea quarks in each generation under the proper regularization. It is also shown that, as a result of this equality and due to the suppression of the strange sea quark, the charm sea quark has a hard intrinsic component.
