We derive the formula concerning the relations among quark mass matrix elements, the mass eigenvalues and the diagonalizing unitary transformation angles and the relations between the last of them and the Kobayashi-Maskawa mixing angles, hypothesizing the smallness of the unitary transformation angles and taking into account the hierarchy of the mass eigenvalues. Making use of those formulae, we study the mass matrices for which the Kobayashi-Maskawa mixing angles are expressible in terms of only the mass eigenvalues.
