On the Lorentz Transformations of Operator Solutions of the Pre-Schwinger Model

We study "pre-massive Schwinger model" to discuss the fact that the fermi field operator ψ given by Nakanishi in the Schwinger model does not undertake the standard Lorentz transformations as the spinor so as not to give rise to an inconsistency, while that of the massive Schwinger model is argued to transform in the standard way. An operator solution of the pre-massive Schwinger model is shown to have the following properties: (1) The field ψ has the same structure as that of the pre-massless Schwinger model given by Nakanishi has. (2) It satisfies local gauge transformations, canonical anti-commutation relations and the standard Lorentz transformations. We find it not impossible that ψis transformed in the standard way even in the massless limit (fermion mass→0) because in the pre-massless Schwinger model different Lorentz transformations of ψ result from different representations of a massless scalar field φ and the standard transformations are realized in a reducible representation.
