Study on Neutron ^3P_2-Superfluidity with Two-Dimensional Character under π^0 Condensation in Neutron Star Matter

• A model calculation is performed in order to study how the ^3P_2-superfluid state of neutrons in neutron star matter is affected by a well-developed π^0-condensation. Because of the [ALS] (Alternating-Layer-Spin) structure of nucleons, the neutron ^3P_2-pair being in the same layer with the maximum angular-momentum component plays an important role in the pairing correlation arising from the two-dimesional Fermi gas state. It is shown that this ^3P_2-superfluidity is still existent even in the well-developed [ALS] (π^0-condensed) phase and its critical temperature is of the same order of magnitude, compared with that realized from the ordinary Fermi gas state. Coexistence of the ^3P_2-superfluid and the π^0 condensation in neutoron star matter provides an example of low-dimensional superfluid in nuclear system.
