On the Absorption of Stopped π^- Mesons by C^<12> Nuclei

• Absorption of a stopped π^- meson by a nucleon pair in light nuclei is considered with the emission of a high energy nucleon while the other nucleon is trapped by the nucleus and renders the latter strongly excited. Calculation is performed for C^<12> nuclei, and the excitation energy distribution of the residual nucleus B^<11> is compared with experimental results.
