The problem of vortex-wave creation by a trapped ion in rotating liquid helium is formulated under the presence of both a D. C. and an A. C. field. The analysis is based on classical hydrodynamics and here we use a truncated Fourier expansion to obtain a solution valid for long-wavelengths whose wave numbers correspond to the frequency region ω&isim;10^<10> rad/sec. The calculated power loss is small, but nevertheless it may possibly appear as a change of Q in the cavity.
