The anomaly in the specific heat of solid CH_3D in the lowest temperature region is discussed, based on the quantum statistical mechanical consideration of the James-Keenan model. The molecular field approximation is adopted. Interspecies conversion is not taken into account, and nuclear spin species A and E are treated separately. All the calculations are made in the subspace with J-^^<4, where J is the rotational quantum number of a free methane molecule. The results of the numerical calculations indicate that the double transitions and the anomaly in the specific heat in solid CH_3D can be understood on the basis of the James-Keenan model.
