According to the quartet model, we try to obtain a unified understanding of the various features of the weak interaction. In order to obtain the effective Hamiltonian for elementary particles, we assume "translation" rules from a set of urbaryon fields to a hadron field. On the basis of these rules, we show that all the semileptonic decays originate in the interaction J_μlμdagger+h. c., where the l_μ are lepton currents and the J_μ are urbaryon currents, and all the nonleptonic decays originate in the two-body transition t_3→t_2 which is reduced to the interaction l_μlμdagger by the Hiroshima model.
