The effect of the primordial transverse momentum (k_T) of quark on the transverse momentum (q_T) distribution of μ^+μ^- pair in hadronic collision is studied. The primordial k_T of quark is determined by the MIT bag model. Our results say that average q_T(<q_T>) of μ^+μ^- pair in πp scattering is about 0.2 GeV/c larger than that in pp scattering, which is in good agreement with the data. In order to fit to the data on the q_T-dependence of cross section and absolute value of <q_T>, the QCD correction is necessary, but the primordial k_T of quark accounts for the <q_T> of about 0.7GeV/c in the case p+p→μ^+μ^-+"X".
