The Primordial Transverse Momentum of Quark and the Ratio σ_L/σ_T in the Bag Model

The primordial transverse momentum (k_T) distribution of quark inside the hadron is studied by using the structure function of deep inelastic scattering in the bag model. The k_T-dependent structure function is defined and its k_T-dependence and the average k_T^2 are obtained. The ratio σ_L/σ_T behaves as (<K_T^2>+Δ(x))/∣q^2∣. The quarks have larger K_T than the antiquarks in proton due to Fermi statistics. In our model, the average transverse momentum <P_T^2> of μ^+ μ^- pair is larger in πp scattering than in pp scattering.
