An Extended Deformation Model of ^<24>Mg : Energy Properties of Low-Spin States

A quadrupole- and octupole-deformed field is realized in the K^π=0^±, 2^+, 3^- rotational bands of ^<24>Mg. The K^π=0^± bands make the inversion doublet with the lowest configuration. The K^π=2^+ and 3^- bands are built upon their respective single 1p-1h configurations. The deformed-shell character dominates in the low-lying states of ^<24>Mg, particularly in the K^π=0^+, 2^+, 3^- bands. The effects of the one-body and two-body spin-orbit forces are discussed.
