Theoretical expressions for large-angle and forward elastic scattering of two nucleons at high energies are derived in the eikonal formalism. On the basis of field theory and the functional derivative method, two kinds of s-channel crossed ladder diagrams are considered. It is shown that our large-angle scattering amplitude takes a form similar to DWBA, and our forward amplitude includes the higher-order correction to the well-known Glauber approximation, These correction terms are prpportional to the square of momentum transfer.
