We study a new quintessence scenario by a scalar field with an inverse-power potential based on the brane cosmology. We show that in the quadratic dominant stage, which generically appears in brane world cosmology, the density parameter of a scalar field Ω_φ decreases regardless of the potential-term contribution. This feature enables us to impose natural initial condition. We also discuss the constraints on parameters for the natural and successful quintessence scenario.^<1)>
