Dioxin utilizing bacterium have been isolated from soil sample heavily contaminated with industrial smoke. Once dioxins were released in nature, they are very stable and could accumulate in the human body through food chains. Because dioxins have been already released in many areas during the last 30 years, bioremediation is the powerful and cost effective method. Isolated bacteria degrades both dibenzo-p-dioxine and dibenzofuran. 16S rRNA gene sequencing date indicated Sphingobacterium multivorum at the possibility of 99%
