"This paper deals with the problems, labor relations between management and labor of smaller enterprises. Especially this one focused on the theories and research method to clear above mentioned. I distinguished the ages according to technology, skill and labor relations. I call the relations between smaller enterprises and big ones in the date of 1950s the situations to be subordinate and depend on big corporations, and also labor relations was not institutionalized in smaller enterprises yet. In the age of 1960s, 70s, I do them the situations to be independent of big ones, and smaller enterprises got the potential or actual abilities to innovate technology although not all. But by coming globalization after in the latter half of 1980s, many subcontract smaller enterprises were reorganized by big corporations. Many smaller enterprises have been bankrupted and given up under reorganizing them since latter half of 1980s. Only smaller enterprises based on the excellent technologies have survived and grown as the result of reorganization of smaller ones. Nowadays, venture business are the focus of Japanese researchers' attentions as same as world them. Addition to the characteristic above mentioned, I analyze the qualitative methods taken in these researches."
