In resent years many schemes have been proposed for reducing the structural vibration. This paper deals with the effect of the transient vibration of the bending type structure due to a gyro which is mounted on the top. We elaborate the analytical model of building by simplifying it into the cantilever with added masses. We also equate this model to the equivalent cantilever with one lumped mass on the top of it having the same natural frequency and bending rigidity. A computer simulation is executed and compared with the experimental results. Both are generally in satisfactory agreement. Applying the above analytical method to the 12 story building of its height 48 [m], the width 12 [m] and the thickness 6 [m] for example, it is estimated that the steel rotor with the diameter 2.7 [m] and the thickness 1 [m] suppresses the transient flexural vibration quickly with the 3600 [rpm] rotational velocity.
