Characteristics of Vibration Transmissibility of Damper with Visco-Elasticity Material

This paper describes with the vibration transmissibility and loss factor of the damper with visco-elasticity material (VEM). The vibration transmissibility and loss factor are calculated analytically and are measured by the experiments. The vibration transmissibility curves measured by the experiments are almost independent of the exciting acceleration and displacement amplitude in the range of frequency lower than the peak value of the vibration transmissbility, however one influenced considerably by them in the higher frequency. The loss factors of the VEM increase and the natural frequency of the damping system decrease as the exciting acceleration and displacement amplitude increase. It is found that the loss factors and natural frequencies vary depending on the exciting acceleration and displacement amplitude.
