As we have already found, the setting of 'As Sure as the Sung Rising in the East' (Thein Pe Myint, written in 1953-57) is influenced by 'Fall of Paris' (Erenburg, written in 1942), which is evidently anti-fascism. But Thein Pe Myint did not adopt its main techniques for his 'As Sure as the Sun Rising in the East'. The prural point view is the synthetic way of catching the complicated historical background as thoroughly as possible. But 'As Sure as the Sun Rising in the East' did not adopt such a point of view but the view of the first person narrator. It is more of style found usually in an autobiography. The characterization of the principal who is Tin Htun is made by describing his own thoughts and characterization of others follows by Tin Htun's impressions on them. I think that the autobiographical style of this novel might be brought from 'David Copperfield' (Dickens, written in 1849-50), which was the most favourite foreign literature of Thein Pe Myint. The contents of this paper are as follows. 1. The comparison of these two novels 2. The reception of English literature by Thein Pe Myint 3. The impression of 'David Copperfield' by Thein Pe Myint 4. The relation between the common points and the influence
