It is useful to understand the effect of irradiance, temperature, and spectral irradiance on the photovoltaic cell and module performance, to estimate their current--voltage curves under various climate conditions for power rating and energy rating. In this paper, we present the accuracy of the three methods described at the IEC 60891 and investigate the applicability of these methods. Procedure 3 showed good agreements between the calculations and experiments within \pm 1%. We have also demonstrated that the accuracies of procedures 1 and 2 depend on the device structure. Although both methods can introduce larger deviations at lower irradiance level, these deviations are not negligible for energy yield prediction.
