Intercarrier Interference Cancellation for Time-Reversed Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing Systems

Time-reversed orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) communications arouse much interest in the bandlimited underwater acoustic channel. In this paper, a time-reversed OFDM communication system combined with an intercarrier interference (ICI) self cancellation scheme is proposed to reduce the ICI due to carrier frequency offset. Simulation results demonstrate that time-reversed OFDM systems using the proposed scheme can effectively reduce ICI effects, increase the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) with low computation complexity, and hence give rise to performance improvement.
