Copper nano-ink has been synthesized in various kinds of alcohol with carbon chain of 1 through 5 using a direct reduction by hydrazine. The solubility of copper nitrate was best with methanol and decreased dramatically when the chain length increased. The nano-ink prepared using copper in alcohol was then compared with those prepared in distilled water under the same conditions. The results have shown that methanol is a better medium than water in that oxidation of copper in alcohol was minimized and the size of nano-particles was much smaller than those prepared in water under similar conditions.
