Mixed powders were prepared by mixing two kinds of cadmium sulfide precipitates, average particle sizes of which were 2.2 μ and 4.3 μ respectively. Reflection spectra and excitation spectra of photoconduction were measured, and also effects of packing pressure, applied voltage and light intensity on the photoconduction response.Each of measured properties, such as dark conductivity, photoconductivity, S/N (ratio of photoconductivity to dark conductivity), wavelength of peak of excitation spectra and reflection spectra, was changed in the order of their mixing ratio. However, most of them, such as reflectance and photoconductivity were not agreeable to the values estimated proportionally to the volume ratio, but the values, to the surface ratio. This conclusion seemed to be supported by the calculated values of recombination coefficient in the mixed powders.
