To improve the adhesive properties, wettability and dye affinity of polyethylene films, the addition of a hydrophilic functional group to the surface of the polyethylene films by plasma treatment was investigated. Linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE) and high-density polyethylene (HDPE) films processed using two different plasma treatment systems were subjected to graft polymerization with polyethylene glycol diacrylate (PEGDA). The fixation of PEGDA to the PE film was evaluated by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). As a result of hydrolysis and the introduction of a hydroxyl group, an increase in the oxide peak was observed.
