The purpose of the development of automatic systems of dyeing process and materials handling is to realize an unattended dyeing system. The automation of plant operations made it possible to improve the productivity and the working environment, and to stabilize the quality of products. The developed system includes : (1) Automatic dyeing system (i) Temperature program control of dye liquors The development of the time divided sampleddata control method for the temperature control of dye liquors. (ii) Automatic operation of dyeing machines The development of sequential control methods for water supply, draining, pump operation, etc. (iii) Automation of auxiliary process The development of new processes and sequential control methods for weighing, dissolution, conveyance and cleaning of dyestuffs and chemicals. (2) Automatic materials handling system The development of carriage and conveyor system, and the control methods for them.
