A new difluoro quinolone antimicrobial agent, temafloxacin (TMFX; granule), was orally administered at a daily dose of 300-600 mg for 7 14 days, to 9 patients; 1 with acute tonsillitis, 8 with acute bronchitis and 1 with acute exacerbation of chronic bronchitis.<BR>The clinical response to TMFX was good in 8 cases and fair in one, the total efficacy rate being 89%.<BR>No significant adverse reactions were observed in any of the patients receiving this therapy.
