EVALUATION OF MT-141 IN COMPLICATED URINARY TRACT INFECTION

Clinical studies were made on MT-141, a new cephamycin antibiotic, in department of Urology. Twenty-two patients suffering from complicated urinary tract infection were tried with MT-141.<BR>The results were as follows; excellent in 3 cases, moderate in 8 cases, poor in 11 cases and the overall effectiveness rate was 50%.<BR>Bacteriological outcome was as follows: eradicated in 18 strains (64.3%), persisted in 10 strains (35.7%), out of 28 strains isolated.<BR>MIC was more than 100μg/ml in the strains as follows; <I>Enterobacter</I> sp., <I>S. faeacalis, P. aeruginosa, Serratia</I> sp., <I>Citrobacter, S. epidermidis</I>.<BR>No side effect was observed in all cases.
