The purpose of this study is to clarify the design-elements which command the femininity of of clothing by Hayashi's quantification theory I.<BR>The results of analysis are as follows : <BR>1) The design-elements which command the femininity of clothing are the shape of lower clothes, the designdetails of lower clothes, the tone of color and the hume of lower clothes. The femininity of clothing is more influenced by the designs of lower clothes than by those of upper clothes.<BR>2) On the lower clothes, the item-categories which carry great weight with the femininity of clothing are the tight skirt in the shape, gathering and flaring in the design-details, grayish tone in the tone, green, purple and wine color in the hume.<BR>3) By the use of the item-category-weights of the design elements, which are got by the analysis of Hayashi's quantification theory I, it becomes possible to estimate minutely and objectly how feminine some new designed clothes are.
