The stability of SY5555, a new oral penem antimicrobial agent, in human kidney and intrascrotum tissue homogenate was studied. SY5555 was hydrolyzed in kidney (normal and tumorous part) homogenate and had decreased to about 60% of the initial drug concentration at 150 minutes after incubation. In contrast, SY5555 was stable in intrascrotal tissue homogenate.
