The stresses in the yarn beam were inspected and recorded throughout winding. The yarn used were nylon filaments and cotton yarn. The stress of beam in two directions, longitudinal and circumferential, was inspected by means of wire strain gages which were fixed inside the beam cylinder. The following data were obtained through the experimental results and the theory. 1) Yarn pressure on the beam cylinder. 2) Force acting on the beam flanges through the yarn. 3) The anithotropicality of the yarn layer. 4) The general applicability of the theory.
