Melange yarns consisting of natural fibers and synthetic fibers are generally produced by mixing slivers dyed in various colors. But in case of worsted spinning system (long stable fibers spinning system), this method has the defect such as streaky look caused by ill-blended colors. It is possible to make well-blended colors by means of mixing fibers printed in stripe with dyed slivers.The vigoureux printing system has conventionally been used to get well-blended colors. However, this equipment has various defects such as impossibility of multi-color printing, low productivity, color bleeding at blotch edge, poor color reproducibility etc. as time goes by.The new developed printing equipment has several pairs of drum connected with together which roll dye liquid injection and vacuum through slivers. So it can vertically print multi-colors in stripe along the slivers. By means of it, we solve the defect of traditional printing system and we create superior melange yarns with fine-blended colors, which we had never been able to produce.In this first report the continuous multi-color printing equipment is mentioned.
