The A′-form of tridecanoic acid is triclinic, with the space group P\bar1 and with <I>a</I>=4.273(1), <I>b</I>=4.972(1), <I>c</I>=37.69(1) Å, α=90.36(2), β=109.44(2), and γ=112.43(2)°. The structure was determined by the Patterson method. Refinement by block-diagonal least-squares methods gave a final <I>R</I> factor of 0.071.
