The effect of added sodium chloride on the metachromatic interaction between cationic dyes (Crystal Violet, Trypaflavine, and 9-aminoacridinium chloride) and sodium polyphosphate and poly(ethylenesulfonate) was studied in aqueous solutions by measuring the visible absorption spectra and by determining the bound-dye spectra and the equilibrium constants with the principal component analysis.
